The famous ski resort of Savoy, Courchevel, nestled at 1100-2700m above sea level, is known for its very active tourism. This year’s calendar is loaded with new activities, to the delight of people passionate of performances in the mountains. A first special Fair of helicopter mountain rescue, ski lounge where thirty helicopters will be presented with the first flights and helicopter demonstrations, evenings Verdons By Night XXL, a discovery of trackers, Fat Bike, a musical getaway with Piaf Years … so many novelties added to the traditional program that made the reputation of the resort. A big surprise is planned for 2023, with the selection of Courchevel, Méribel as official candidates for France in the Alpine Ski World Championships. The final decision will be taken in June 2018.

The International Fireworks Festival, established in 2003, is a unique competition in the mountains, bringing together French and foreign fireworks under the stars of Courchevel. For this 14th edition, Courchevel, always in the tradition of excellence, hosts four of the best European companies. The French company Pandora, winner of the 2015 edition, will execute the closing fire. The route of Vertical Kilometer is a unique concept in Courchevel, where climbers and skiers trailers can express themselves and compare their performance on a course of 5km of climbing of elevation gain of 1,000m, the same winter and summer. While for the younger freeski courses are offered, Millet Ski Touring, for lovers and ski mountaineering specialists who celebrates its 100th climb in winter, provides for the 1,200 people expected, part of them will be disguised, a timed climb of 3.2km and 500m of ascent, arriving in Courchevel before the Croisette. A concert of the Compagnie Créole is given just after the awards ceremony in the gymnasium of Praz «L’envolée».
