The new CHANEL eyewear collection announces a gentle autumn. The aesthetic is based around well-known shapes, enriched with new stories, facets and materials.
The mask. A shape that’s become recurrent at CHANEL. This season it comes as a butterfly version and square version with softened angles. In acetate engraved with the iconic quilting, the frames are threaded through with a gold, silver or ruthenium metal line. Completed by wide temples stamped with the double C, they are a full-blown fashion statement, supported by a chromatic range inspired by autumnal colours: brown or green tortoiseshell, black, brown, dark blue and dark burgundy.
Impertinence and daring, freedom and fashion. A new optical line responds to the values intrinsic to the spirit of CHANEL: this fall, frames blur the boundaries between opticals and sunglasses with subtly tinted lenses for a light protection. A true fashion accessory, these glasses with their preppy style are encircled finely with metal and are available in two shapes and two sizes. The CHANEL codes are delicately present here with the temples discreetly signed and dressed with the iconic chain.
In 2002, CHANEL launched its first frameless glasses. A few seasons ago, a reinterpretation was born through a design with thickened and bevelled lenses. Today sees the third generation of a pair of sunglasses that have become a House classic. Sharpened once more, the bevelled lenses play with a diamond-like faceting that stretches over the forehead like a cat-eye frame. They are accompanied by pilot shaped glasses with softened facets. In this game of opaque light, the lenses are covered with an opalescent mirrored finish that softly veils the gaze in a crystalline and luminescent palette: champagne, bronze, silvery pink with hints of blue. For the ultimate detail, the faceting of the lenses is repeated on the acetate temple tips.
Another interpretation of the facet is presented on three large sunglasses frames, round, square and cat eye. While voluptuous, the faceting is soft in its angles, comfortable in its volume. Feminine and concealing, these glasses in bright red, brown, plum, black and navy-blue acetate play the retro chic card and revisit the essential.
