Sculptural and enchanting, Maison GEORGES HOBEIKA’s Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2018/19 collection illuminates and magnifies the beauty of the gesture and the grace of the movement by imagining evanescent silhouettes that transform precious fabrics into the swirling lightness of Swan Lake and the poetic sensation of renewal enhanced by the spectacle of nature.
The mastery of the Maison’s workshops and the power of the designer’s imagination morph nature’s elements on clouds of transparent laces and waves of celestials muslins. Silky organza choreographs crystals of lights and gold as pearls of rain and bursts of sunlight, while capturing the changing shadows of a mysterious lake and restoring the stars’ dust of the wandering Milky Way in the serene moonlight that seems to spread the beauty of its light on the sensual folds of a flowing dress.
The fleeting charm of precious flowers blossoms in an anthology of pleats, embroideries, and trompe-l’oeil that enrapture the eye, multiplying the bucolic scenes in which the curves of swans unfold and where, at times, velvet feathers flourish in the color of the ocean. The aquarelle hues of dawn’s early light and the pink reflections of the sunset complete a pastoral symphony of dazzling tonal gradients that seem to immortalize the magic of flight or the memory of a fleeting dream.
