After the success of Baalbeck remembers Oum Kalthoum in 2018 and on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the birth of Abdel Halim Hafez, the International Festival of Baalbeck will pay tribute to the one who marked the oriental music with an indelible seal. A film-concert featuring scenes from the films of the so-called Brown Nightingale, as well as a selection of his greatest songs performed by the talented Mohammed Assaf, the star who never stopped shining with his captivating voice since his victory at Arab Idol. The orchestra composed of 50 musicians will be conducted by Egyptian conductor and composer Hisham Gabr, with the participation of his compatriots, singer Noha Hafez and video artist Amir Ramses.

Oud Around The World is an invitation to travel through different musical cultures in a spirit of peace and tolerance. World-renowned virtuoso Omar Mounir Bashir will be performing in the Bacchus Temple performing traditional music from Iraq, Lebanon and Turkey, mixing Latin and Indian tunes, Bashir family compositions and meditative music. He will be accompanied by a set of 7 musicians, a section of brass and wood and will present among other pieces of his latest album The Dancing Oud. By experimenting with the fusion of the oud and the guitar, he opened the way to new possibilities for oud players from all over the world. He recently received a Platinum award from Universal Music rewarding him for the outstanding sale of his albums.
