Prestige issue 286, October 2017
Founded in 2005 by Luc Pettavino, president of the «Association Monégasque contre les myopathies (AMM)», and under the patronage of HSH prince Albert II of Monaco, Only Watch is a biennial charity auction during which one-of-a-kind timepieces are donated by the finest watch brands, to help raise money for research on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. This year’s edition auctioned by Christie’s, the world’s leading auction house, will take place on November 11, 2017 at the Four Seasons Hôtel des Bergues in Switzerland. More than 47 famous watch brands including Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Breguet, Piaget among others, donate a version of an iconic best selling model of the brand’s collection specifically made for Only Watch. Prices range from tens of thousands to several millions of euros, which allowed the association to raise over 25 million euros, allowing research to reach new heights.
