The Beiteddine Festival taking place each summer since 1985, has chosen for 2019 as usual to invite Lebanese, Arab and international stars for a varied program of festivities. The public will be spoiled by this panoply. In the Palace of Beiteddine, this jewel of Lebanese architecture of the XIXth century, the program of events will ignite the court of the palace of Emir Bechir Chehab this summer.

A world Premiere with Gabriel Yared & Yasmina Joumblatt. A unique encounter between the Oscar winner, composer and musician Gabriel Yared and the amazing Yasmina Joumblatt, great grand-daughter of the legendary Asmahan. Yasmina’s immense talent as a songwriter and interpreter is enhanced by the music composed for her by Yared. The Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra will be directed by Maestro Dirk Brossè.

Gérard Depardieu has worked with the biggest French filmmakers such as François Truffaut and Maurice Pialat, as well as in movies produced in Hollywood. He has played in more than 200 movies. Gérard Depardieu is also passionate about literature and music. He has collaborated with Maestro Riccardo Muti and participated in operas as narrator, directed Jean-Paul Scarpitta.
Barbara
Barbara published her first album in 1965 «Barbara chante Barbara». In the 1990s, her concerts given at Châtelet Theater in Paris make her a legend. In 1994, she is awarded la Victoire de la Musique. Her last album «Barbara» was made in 1996. On November 24, 1997, Barbara passed away at the age of 67.

A double Piano Concert

Abdel Rahman el Bacha was born in Beirut into a family of musicians. Since the brilliant revelation of his talent at the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Belgium at the age of 19 that he won unanimously, he has performed in the most prestigious concert halls in Europe and all around the world.
Billy Eidi mainly champions the romantic repertoire music and the 20th-century French repertoire. He gives with the composer and writer Guy Sacre lecture-recitals on literary and musical themes. Billy Eidi has been awarded high distinctions for his recordings of works for piano and French song.

Omar Rahbany & The passport chamber ensemble
Born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1989, Omar Rahbany comes from a rich musical lineage, as part of the third generation of the iconic Rahbany family.
His most recent project is Passport, a worldly musical album, on which he is the creator and producer. Passport was launched in the Middle East in Beirut, Lebanon (2016) and in the UK, for its international debut, at the Royal Court Theatre (2017).

Abdou Cherif sings Abdel Halim Hafez
Abdou Cherif succeeded where no Arab male voice did before. He imposed himself during the ’90s, in Egypt the native country of Abdel Halim Hafez, by interpreting the memorable songs of the «Brown Nightingale». Abdou Cherif takes on Abdel Halim’s intensity, sensitivity, passion, diversity, and especially disconcerting simplicity. Today, the Arab public recognizes his talent as the worthy heir of Abdel Halim Hafez.
Two exhibitions will be held during the Festival, from July 18th until August 10th, 2019. “Syrie, mon pays qui n’existe plus” by Ammar Abd Rabbo. “Les maîtres du secret” by Jack Dabaghian.
