About twenty years ago, the Francophone Book Fair in Beirut started at the initiative of the Embassy of France. This event has continued to grow through the years, thanks to the dynamism of all partners, including the Union of book Importers in Lebanon that organizes the show. This exhibition has confirmed its leading position in the Lebanese cultural life, it includes an extensive program of lectures and meetings with foreign authors who come specifically to participate in the discussions. Last year, the show hosted the Lebanese writer Amin Maalouf and the prestigious French Academy.
